Super Sub: World Cup (Demo)

A game for football/soccer fans who just want to kick balls hard and score nice goals. 

Relive that magical World Cup vibe without any extra complexity, controls, or insider ball knowledge needed.

Chill out and have fun trying to win the tournament. Or get sweaty as your favorite team. Beat the different computer opponents in creative ways ... or through sheer brutality. 

Upgrade your team into the style you like the most. Or just the one that gives you the most satisfying pings as you earn mountains of money.

A silly arcade sports game, mixed with incremental and idle mechanics.

What is Super Sub?

You're playing the most important match of your life. It's not going great. Lucky for you, your entire team is made of Super Subs!

Our SuperSub Scientists have distilled The Beautiful Game down to its simplest core: place a new player on the field, they kick nearby balls away. Substitute players onto the field to save that shot or score a goal.

But then our Scientists ruined that simplicity again by giving you upgrades. Better accuracy, more players, sub players on and off, bigger goals, fouls going in your favor, set pieces, and much more.

You repeatedly try to beat your next opponent. You will likely fail twenty times before you do. Fortunately, you are paid for every goal, so you can buy upgrades. (Who's paying you and whether that's legal is a matter for another time ...) Such as making the goal bigger. Or earning more money per goal. Or adding more players to your squad.

The first match is only 5-10 seconds long, with a team of 2. By the end of the (full) game, you'll have a full squad of eleven players, a massive field, and a long match to win.

Experience the joy of a world cup like never before. All you need is a mouse, a basic understanding of aiming, and possibly complete disregard for the integrity of the sport.

What is it NOT?

This is obviously not FIFA, PES, or a realistic football simulator. It's not trying to be!

It's a silly and playful take on football. Drag your team of misfits to the final of a world cup. You can make the game as relaxed or as sweaty as you like. There's no penalty for losing, no permanent injuries, no rules unless you choose to enable them with upgrades. In the end, the entire game comes down to placing players on the field---right place, right time.

It's also not about player customization. The individual players of your team are identical, there are no stats or levels or anything. Maybe a next Super Sub game will include that.

It's also our first game to be released on Steam. We're bound to make mistakes and miss opportunities, so feel free to let us know.

Demo

This is a free demo. Our goal is to get the full game published on Steam around the time the World Cup starts ;)

We're looking for any feedback you have on the game. Now's the time to let us know so we can make the full game as good as possible. The game's content is basically done, we're looking to balance difficulty, fine tune, put upgrades in the best possible order, polish, etcetera.

• The demo includes only the first two (group) matches of the bracket.
• The upgrade tree only allows you to unlock the first few upgrades in every branch.
• The demo includes only the regular/default game mode.
• The game lacks (visual) polish, especially in less crucial areas. (For example, all characters look the same because we haven't included different ones yet!)
